Applications of ODOT in the Shipping Industry
The shipping industry demands robust, reliable, and highly responsive control systems to ensure operational safety, efficiency, and precision. Odot's automation solutions are increasingly becoming a cornerstone in modern vessel design, providing the critical backbone for complex electrical and control architectures. By offering high-performance, remote I/O and centralized control capabilities, ODOT technology effectively addresses the unique challenges of the maritime environment, from harsh conditions to the need for precise, real-time equipment coordination.
The customer system utilizes Pepperl+Fuchs controllers combined with ODOT C-Series remote I/O to construct the entire electrical control framework. This solution is widely applied across various domains, including: propulsion systems, AMS (Engine Room Monitoring and Alarm System), AC switchboard systems, and water cooling systems.
The ODOT C-Series Remote I/O, installed inside control cabinets, performs comprehensive DI/DO/AI signal acquisition and output. This involves integrating signals from both local and external sources, such as push buttons, indicator lights, temperature sensors, and circuit breaker statuses. For equipment utilizing 485 communication, the ODOT CT-5321 module is employed for seamless data acquisition and control.

Furthermore, through in-depth technical collaboration, the main control section has been jointly developed. This enables coordinated operation between the electrical control components and multiple frequency converters. While synchronous jitter is controlled at the nanosecond level, the main control system's operational response cycle is maintained at the microsecond level. This architecture serves as a fully domestic, independently controllable alternative solution for core automation technologies.
